Everton have contacted Boca Juniors over acquiring the services of Frank Fabra, according to El Crack Deportivo.

The Argentinian radio station claim that the Toffees have already approached the Argentinian club about signing the left-back after the World Cup in the summer.

El Crack Deportivo report that Napoli are also keen on signing Fabra but haven’t contracted Boca Juniors regarding the 27-year-old as of yet.

It is believed that Milan and Arsenal are also interested in the left-back, but are not as keen as the Toffees or Napoli.

Fabra has made 19 appearances this season for Boca Juniors to help them sit top of the Argentine Primera Divsion.

Good move for Everton?

Yes, even though the price of Fabra isn’t known.

The Toffees are in need of a new left-back as the position has caused them problems this season.

Leighton Baines is currently the only natural left-back in the Toffees’ senior squad and after he was sidelined with an injury for many months earlier in the campaign, it caused Sam Allardyce to play right-back Cuco Martina out of position on a regular basis.

Likely to happen?

With the Toffees already having made contact, according to El Crack Deportivo, then there’s a chance Fabra could be at Goodison Park next season.

The 27-year-old left-back only has a year left on his current contract and it’s believable that Boca Juniors will opt to cash in on him in the summer, in order to get a decent transfer fee for his services.

Fabra’s future will be much clearer after the World Cup as it makes sense that he will just want to focus on helping his country Columbia do well at the tournament, before thinking about himself.
