Everton scouts will jet out on a fresh transfer mission to watch Galatasaray winger Garry Rodrigues in action against Fenerbahce on Saturday, according to Aksam

The Turkish outlet report that the Toffees scouts will be in attendance in Istanbul as they weigh up a summer move for the Cape Verde international winger.

Aksam claim that scouts from Premier League rivals Newcastle United will also jet out to watch Rodrigues, who has been a Magpies target since January.

According to Fotomac, Everton have scouted Rodrigues before, with Galatasaray rating him at £18million.

Rodrigues, 27, has been in great form for Galatasaray recently, scoring five goals and providing six assists in his last nine matches.

Good move for Everton?

Yes.

Rodrigues has shown that he has what it takes to make a step up in competition from the Turkish Super Lig, and Everton would no doubt be a good destination.

The 27-year-old is a tricky winger with decent pace, and the Netherlands-born Cape Verde international loves to take players on in wide areas.

Considering the lack of players that operate in wide areas at Everton, Rodrigues looks like he would be a good addition this summer.

Likely to happen?

It looks like Everton are pretty serious about their interest in Rodrigues.

However, so are rivals Newcastle, who have been tracking him for a while now.

It looks as though the two clubs will battle for Rodrigues this summer, unless Newcastle are relegated, which opens the door for Everton to swoop, possibly uncontested.
