Arsenal are set to battle it out with Manchester City and Manchester United for Napoli midfielder Jorginho this summer, according to The Sun.
The newspaper claim that the Gunners have sent scouts to watch the 26-year-old defensive midfielder in action for the Serie A leaders, with a bidding war set to ensue this summer.
The Sun report that the Italy international would cost around £60million this summer after his good form for Napoli throughout the season so far.
Jorginho still has two-and-a-half years left on his current deal, which runs out in the summer of 2020.
Speaking to The Sun, his agent Joao Santos said: “It’s normal for European top clubs to keep players of this type in their radars. We’re waiting for May. We wish Napoli could win the league. Then if Napoli wants to renew the contract, we talk about it.
“The same if they want to sell Jorginho. There are no official and concrete proposals for him from UK. I don’t know if De Laurentiis will call me at the end of the season to extend the contract of the player. I suppose that. We are available to deal with. He became Neapolitan and we are in a family. He is a first level player.
“I follow Premier League. I’m sure Jorginho has the characteristics to play there. He runs more than 13 km every game and he has a great technique. I don’t have a figure in my mind, the price is set by the president.”
Good move for Arsenal?
Absolutely.
The Gunners are in dire need of a decent defensive midfielder, with Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny not up to the task, and Jorginho has shown himself to be one of the best in Europe this season.
The Brazil-born terrier has been in the form of his life for Napoli this campaign, scoring four goals and providing four assists to go alongside his stellar defensive work.

It looks like there will be strong competition for Jorginho after his displays for Napoli this season, and Arsenal will have to be quick if they want to secure his signature.
At £60million, Jorginho will not come cheap, and that may potentially price Arsenal out of any deal if there is a bidding war for the 26-year-old.
