Odsonne Edouard has been axed from the starting XI for Saturday’s clash against Kilmarnock – and Celtic fans on Twitter are not pleased with the decision.
The 20-year-old centre-forward has been named on the bench by manager Brendan Rodgers for the away league clash.
Moussa Dembele has got the nod in attack and the Bhoys will be looking to extend their 11-point gap at the top of the league table.
Edouard has missed out on the starting line up despite being involved against Hearts in the previous match.
The French striker scored after just there minutes in the 3-1 victory and will have to wait for an opportunity off the bench to impress against Kilmarnock.
He has managed six goals in 16 appearances for the Scottish giants this campaign, but is yet to fully cement his place in the side for an extended amount of time.
Leigh Griffiths’ current injury problem opens the door for the Frenchman to pounce, but it seems like his compatriot Dembele is above him in the pecking order.
Celtic fans on social media believe that Rodgers’ decision to axe Edouard is a “harsh” one given his impressive performance in the last game.

Changing formation that gave us the best performance of the season????? Edouard not deserving of being dropped, if he dropped Dembele then there would be a massive uproar. Really looking forward to seeing Musonda, Hendry and how the midfield will play today. https://t.co/i3e4bqfXps

Looking forward to Musonda starting but feel sorry for Edouard. Deserved his place. I would have started with unchanged team.
