Can’t take foot off the pedal

Tottenham made a fast start to Sunday’s game, but their efforts failed to grab them a goal.

While it’s understandable that Spurs took their foot of the pedal to regain their breath and tried to be patience with their build up, they then seem to be too laid back about trying to grab the lead.

This casual attitude played right into Palace’s hands as it led to their supporters being able to loudly cheer on their team, in order to inspire them.

While no one expects Spurs to be able to score in the first 10 minutes of a game, the team seemed disheartened when they fail to do so.

Spurs need to get this weird mindset out of their game, as tougher opposition will take advantage of it.
