Hernandez out, Lanzini in for West Ham v Liverpool

|

West Ham boss David Moyes will drop striker Javier Hernandez to the bench and bring in Manuel Lanzini for Saturday afternoon’s Premier League clash v Liverpool, according to a club insider.

ExWHUemployee, who is an established source for reliable and exclusive insider Hammers information, reported the news on Twitter on Saturday.

Hernandez scored last time out as the Hammers beat Watford 2-0, with Marko Arnautovic scoring the other goal in that crucial win.

The Hammers currently sit in 12th place in the Premier League table on 30 points, still just four away from the bottom three and the possibility of relegation.

Playmaker Lanzini has been missing in recent weeks due to a hamstring injury, but it seems as though the Argentina international is now fit again to face the Reds.

ExWHUemployee also revealed earlier that new signing Patrice Evra, signed after the transfer window as a free agent, would make his debut in the match.

OPINION

The decision to drop Hernandez comes as a surprise after his goalscoring exploits against Watford, but the returning Lanzini is so key to West Ham’s attack. It could be that Moyes is going slightly more defensive by dropping a striker to the bench, with Liverpool so dangerous coming forward.
