New signing Patrice Evra will make his West Ham debut in their Premier League clash against Liverpool on Saturday, according to a club insider.

ExWHUemployee, who is an established source of reliable and exclusive insider information on the Hammers, reported the news on Twitter on Saturday afternoon.

Evra joined the Hammers on a short-term contract at the beginning of February, having been a free agent after being release by Marseille.

The 36-year-old’s contract takes him through to June this year, and he joins up once again with David Moyes, who he played under at Manchester United.

The Hammers meet Liverpool at Anfield looking for a second win in a row having overcome Watford 2-0 last time out, currently lying in 12th in the table.

Moyes’ side are four points above the relegation zone with 11 games left to play in the Premier League season.

OPINION

It will be interesting to see what Evra can bring to this West Ham side. The 81-times France international is now 36 years old, and it is yet to be seen whether he can keep up with the pace of the Premier League. His experience will no doubt be crucial however, and this is a West Ham side that has at times lacked real leaders. Travelling to Anfield is a big task, especially with Liverpool in such great form, but Evra will be well up for it considering his United connections.
