Tottenham target Richarlison refuses to rule out move

Tottenham Hotspur target Richarlison has refused to rule out a summer move after an impressive first season in the Premier League with Watford.

The 20-year-old Brazilian was an £11.5million summer signing from Fluminese by former Hornets boss Marco Silva, and the forward has scored five goals and provided five assists in 27 Premier League appearances so far.

Most of that production came in his first 15 games for the club, and his form has shown signs of slowing down recently, as he is without a goal or assist in 10 games.

That has not stopped the rumours linking him to a move however, with Chelsea and Arsenal also linked to the versatile attacker.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, Richarlison refused to rule out a summer switch to a Premier League rival, saying: “In the future you never know but I leave all things like that up to my agents.”

He did however insist that his focus was on playing for Watford in the time being: “At the moment my head is completely in Watford. I am not thinking about anything else and I want to help the team get as far as possible in the League. That is my objective, that is my focus and nothing else.

“I want to play in this country for as long as possible. It is a great league and has been a great experience for me. I want to improve and playing in England can help me do that,” he said.

OPINION

Ever since his blistering early season form under Marco Silva, the rumours have been rife surrounding a potential move away from Vicarage Road for Richarlison. However, his recent drought may become more of an issue if it continues for much longer, although the Hornets are showing signs of a revival that should help the Brazilian regain some form. There is no doubt that he can become a star at the top level, but Richarlison must find some more consistency if he wants to secure a move to Spurs, or any other top-six side.
