Tottenham shouldn’t consider selling to a Premier League rival under any circumstance.

The Times’ report stated that Chelsea and Manchester United are among the clubs monitoring the defender’s situation, and Spurs can’t afford to sell to them.

The two Premier League giants will no doubt have plenty of cash to make a deal for Tottenham financially appealing, but it could cost Spurs’ their chance of success in the league next season.

With Tottenham currently 20 points off current league leaders Manchester City this season, Mauricio Pochettino’s side not only need to up their game to win the title next year, but have to ensure, where they can, that their competition doesn’t get stronger.
