Tottenham Hotspur left it late to narrowly beat Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday, and fans have taken to Twitter to destroy the display of Erik Lamela.

It was Harry Kane to the rescue once again for Spurs, with the goal machine popping up at the back post to head home Christian Eriksen’s corner in the 88th minute to secure a 1-0 win.

Kane was guilty of missing a couple of brilliant chances for Spurs earlier in the match, with a glaring left-footed miss from five yards out particularly uncharacteristic.

An injury-ravaged Palace side looked like they may be able to hold on for a valuable point in their battle against relegation, but it was not to be as Kane came through again for Spurs with his 150th career goal.

For Spurs it is a precious three points in their bid to keep pace with their rivals in the race for the top four, and the win takes them temporarily up to fourth before Manchester United face Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.

Argentina international Lamela was a surprise inclusion for Spurs, replacing Son Heung-Min in Spurs’ attack, and the 25-year-old disappointed with his display.
