Florentino Perez is seriously considering offering Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio to Tottenham as part of a deal for Harry Kane, according to Don Balon.

The Spanish football outlet claim that the Real Madrid president is only willing to let the 22-year-old leave the club if it helps him acquire a great player in return.

Don Balon report that Perez will first try to use Asensio in order to sign David De Gea from Manchester United but if that doesn’t work will use the winger to tempt Spurs into selling Harry Kane.

Perez believes the 24-year-old Tottenham forward would help improve Real Madrid in front of goal.

However, if the Real Madrid chief fails to persuade Tottenham, he has his sights set on Chelsea’s Eden Hazard.

Asensio has made 34 appearances across all competitions for the Spanish giants this season, scoring eight goals and registering five assists.

Good move for Tottenham?

Only if Kane is destined to leave.

The centre-forward is vital to Spurs’ success in the future, given the fact he has scored 33 goals in 34 appearances this season, and the club must do all they can to keep him.

Kane appears happy at Tottenham so that looks like an easy task, however if that was to change, getting Asensio at the club would help Tottenham quickly recover.

The 22-year-old winger is a talented player who can have an instant impact on Spurs’ team.

Likely to happen?

No.

Kane, at least for the time being, seems settled at Tottenham and is unlikely to want to leave anytime soon.

While it’s true that he may change his mind about staying if Spurs don’t win trophies in the next few years, the club can’t worry about that now.

Perez already has Hazard in his sights if Real Madrid should fail with Kane, so the Spanish giants will probably move on quickly if Spurs reject the notion of a swap deal involving Asensio.
