Frank Lampard has revealed that he loves the energy of the current Tottenham side and expects them to progress through their Champions League tie with Juventus.

Spurs have managed to emerge as an elite side in English football during the past few years and now have an attacking style under manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The North London club have been in the race for Premier League titles recently and have a strong young core of English players at the heart of their success.

Spurs are competing for a top four spot in the Premier League this campaign and are still in the FA Cup.

They also are currently batting Italian giants Juventus in the last 16 of the Champions League and earned an impressive 2-2 away draw in the first leg.

Chelsea legend and now pundit Lampard has revealed he expects the Premier League side to advance past Juventus, while also praising their style of football.

“They played brilliantly away [against Juventus] and are really good to watch at the moment,” Lampard told BT Sport, as cited by their Youtube account.

“I love the high energy in their game, not to mention the quality that they’ve got in attacking areas. I think they will beat Juventus.”

OPINION

There is no doubt that Spurs have become a really eye-catching side under Pochettino and have brilliant attackers in the shape of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen. However, they do need to end their 10-year trophy drought and are well placed this season to do so. They definitely have the quality to go all the way in the FA Cup and need to be fielding their strongest team the closer to the final they get. Meanwhile, the Champions League looks very competitive this campaign and there is no reason why Spurs can’t be right in the mix. They demonstrated great character on the European stage against Juventus and just need to get that over the line in the return leg at Wembley.
