Juventus have asked Newport County for their scouting report on Tottenham in order to help the Italian giants beat Spurs in the Champions League, according to the Daily Mirror.

The newspaper claim that Juventus’ top scout Roberto Bosco watched Tottenham play Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday before asking the League Two side for the report they made on Spurs.

The Sun previously revealed that a dossier created by Newport County had helped them earn a surprise 1-1 draw in the FA Cup against the Premier League side.

The document highlighted what the League Two side believed to be Spurs’ weaknesses in order for Newport County to have the best chance of causing an upset.

Newport’s chief scout Paul Molesworth who created the report, shared that the Italian giants were now confident that they could beat Tottenham when they play each other on February 13 after seeing the dossier.

“He could not believe we had drawn with Tottenham 1-1 but he saw the report and said ‘this is fantastic,’” Molesworth told the Daily Mirror.

“He saw enough from the game and the report to make him believe that Juventus will beat Tottenham.”

The document shared criticism of several players such as; stating that Michel Vorm did not come for crosses, Eric Dier was one-paced, Mousa Dembele committed needless fouls and that Dele Alli had a tendency to be selfish.

OPINION

Juventus have made a wise move by asking Newport County for their document on Tottenham, as it certainly looked like it helped the League Two side when they played Spurs. Newport County may not have achieved the victory they desired, but it was still a huge achievement for them to earn a 1-1 draw with the Premier League club. The dossier will no doubt help Juventus pinpoint Tottenham’s weaknesses in order to help them achieve victory when they meet. The Italian giants certainly have the quality in their squad to cause Spurs problems, and if this report helped Newport get a good result with the players they have, who knows how much damage to Spurs it could help a team like Juventus cause.
