Liverpool are currently in talks with Real Madrid over signing Dani Ceballos, according to Diario Gol.

The Spanish football outlet claim that the Spanish giants are willing to loan the 21-year-old midfielder to the Reds and will include a purchase option in the deal.

Diario Goal report that Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez is keen for Liverpool to sign Ceballos, as it will improve relations between the two clubs, making it easier for the Spanish giants to sign Mohamed Salah.

It is believed that Jurgen Klopp has informed the Liverpool board that he loves Ceballos as the German manager is keen to find a player capable of filling the gap left by Philippe Coutinho in the side.

Diario Goal believes the chances that Ceballos will be at Anfield next season are constantly increasing, as the player will definitely leave if Zinedine Zidane remains manager.

The 21-year-old central midfielder, who can also play as an attacking midfielder, has made 19 appearances this season and scored two goals.

Good move for Liverpool?

Yes.

The 21-year-old has no glaring weaknesses to his game, being equally as comfortable going forward as he is defending.

Ceballos would dominate the midfield battle for the Reds as well as be able to contribute to their already impressing attacking threat.

Klopp’s side just need to ensure that Perez’s master plan to improve relations between the clubs by letting Ceballos move to Anfield, doesn’t lead to Salah’s exit.

Likely to happen?

No.

Ceballos could leave the club, but given his age, the Spanish giants will no doubt want to keep him.

It’s more likely that Zidane departs the club and the 21-year-old ends up featuring more for Real Madrid next season.

The Spanish press are notoriously unreliable when it comes to Madrid and this just seems like another transfer rumour, that isn’t likely to go anywhere.
