Celtic announced an 18-month loan deal for Chelsea playmaker Charly Musonda on Monday night and he should go straight into the starting XI at the expense of Callum McGregor.

The Bhoys managed to sign the highly-rated youngster in the final few days of the January transfer window and the Scottish giants have added a very promising talent.

Most Chelsea fans are furious about shipping out their attacking midfielder for such a lengthily spell, but he has the potential to be a massive star at Parkhead.

Musonda is a fleet-footed attacker that has blistering pace and is being tipped to become a future star at Stamford Bridge.

The Belgian is a very intelligent footballer that needs a run of game to develop as a player and under Brendan Rodgers he should thrive.

He showed a glimpse of his class with a stunning long-range assist against Brighton in the Premier League recently, something that would have been expected from Cesc Fabregas.

Celtic need to put Musonda in their starting XI where he can form a brilliant attacking set-up alongside James Forrest, Scott Sinclair and Leigh Griffiths.

That will mean McGregor should be the attacker who drops out despite him being a mainstay in the starting line up this campaign.

McGregor has been a regular feature in the number 10 role for the league leaders, but he should be replaced by Musonda and his form has nosedived recently.

Celtic are lacking a bit of flair in the final third and the 24-year-old has not scored or assisted in his last eight league games.

Rodgers simply must deploy Musonda in the playmaker position and having McGregor to use as an impact substitute shows the depth in the squad right now.
