Wolves fans took to social media to express their sadness over the departure of Jack Price after 18 years at the club.

The Championship leaders confirmed on Twitter and with a statement that Price was set to join MLS side Colorado Rapids for an undisclosed fee.

The midfielder, 25, has only featured nine times this season, making only five of those appearances in the league, but fans were still sad to see the loyal servant depart.

Price was a key member of the Wolves side who won promotion from League One in the 2013/14 season, and made 115 appearances for the club during his time with them.

The Colorado Rapids move was his first permanent transfer of his career after previously only leaving Wolves on a temporary basis to go on loan to Yeovil Town and Leyton Orient.

Wolves made a slideshow to mark his exit and celebrate this time at the club, as he had been there since the age of seven, and fans got emotional as they watched.

Several fans responded with broken heart and crying face emoijis, while some posted heartfelt messages of what the midfielder meant to them.

One fan said that the club shouldn’t forget players like Price as they climb the leagues, as he had passion which is something money can’t buy.

Wolves start life without Price on Saturday when they travel to face Barnsley.
