Erik Lamela played a cameo role off the bench against Southampton on Sunday evening – and Tottenham fans on Twitter were critical of his performances.
The 25-year-old was introduced to the action after 70 minutes and was unable to influence the match as Spurs slipped to a 1-1 draw.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side were held away to Southampton in the Premier League and it means they could end up five points adrift of the top four if Liverpool beat Swansea.
Davinson Sanchez netted an unfortunate own goal in the first-half as his clearance from a Ryan Bertrand cross bundled into the net.
However, Harry Kane’s 29th goal of the season across all competitions drew the visitors level and he missed a decent chance late on to secure the three points.
Spurs fans on social media were not impressed with the impact of right-winger Lamlea off the bench and feel he looks well off the pace.
The Argentinian had a great opportunity late on in the penalty area, but his right-footed stab at the ball was blocked by the defender.
He has been eased back into the side following a return from a long-term injury and fans are desperate to see him recapture his best form.
