Rangers fans took to Twitter to hail the performance of new signing Sean Goss in their 1-0 win over Atletico Mineiro in the Florida Cup on Thursday night.

The central midfielder, 22, made his first appearance for the club as he played the first half of the friendly clash against the Brazilians at the Orlando City Stadium, in which manager Graeme Murty fielded different teams for each period.

Ex-Manchester United youngster Goss, who has joined on loan from QPR until the end of the season, demonstrated a sound range of passing and impressive reading of the game as he joined fellow new arrival Jamie Murphy in making his first appearance since moving to Ibrox.

The German-born midfielder spent five years at Old Trafford before leaving in search of first-team football 12 months ago.

After a £500,000 move to QPR in January of last year, Goss made a handful of appearances for the Loftus Road side but had yet to taste any action so far this season.

He has linked up with Rangers as they struggle with injuries to a number of key midfielders with Graham Dorrans, Ryan Jack and Jordan Rossiter all sidelines.

A section of Rangers supporters on social media were were impressed with what they saw of the midfielder against Atletico Mineiro, with one fan calling him “amazing” and another dubbing him “the next Andrea Pirlo”.
