Leeds United are reportedly preparing to make a bid for Luton right-back James Justin – and fans have delivered mixed verdicts on Twitter.
Football Insider claim that the Championship giants are keen to sign the teenage defender, 18, after losing 2017-18 league ever-present Luke Ayling for the rest of the season.
The right-back has undergone ankle surgery and the club announced on Wednesday that he will not play again in the current campaign.
Football Insider report that Leeds were expecting grim news about Ayling after he broke down in their last Championship encounter are ready to table an offer to League Two leaders Luton to land Justin before the transfer window shuts this month.
It is said they have watched him on several occasions this season for Luton and are keen to win the race for a player who was the subject of multiple bids from second-tier rivals Nottingham Forest last summer.
Leeds already have Gaetano Berardi and Vurnon Anita in full-back positions, with both widely experienced at right-back, and the club finalised a deal for new left-back signing Laurens De Bock on Wednesday.
Supporters of the Yorkshire giants and Luton took to social media to react to their strong interest in rising star Justin, with some questioning the club’s pursuit of yet another full-back while others believe he is an outstanding prospect who is just what they’re looking for.
One even claimed that Leeds should look to re-sign academy product Sam Byram from West Ham.

Doubt it coyle is a much better player, won’t waste money on short term cover besides we have Berardi and Anita natural RB’s, no story this one…
