Wolves close to Hause deal

|

Wolves are close to agreeing a new contract with defender Kortney Hause, according to Football Insider.

The reliable football news site claim the runaway Championship leaders are set to hand Hause, 22, a fresh deal before sanctioning a January loan move to another second-tier club.

Football Insider report that Wolves are keen to kept hold of the England Under-21 international with 18 months remaining on his current contract.

It is said that centre-back Hause has attracted strong interest from Championship clubs Middlesbrough, Preston and Millwall, who are all keen on taking him on loan for the second half of the season as they look to bolster their defensive options.

Good move for Wolves?

Yes. Hause is a player of potential and it would be good business by Wolves to tie him down to a new contract before loaning him out to a second-tier club where he can expect to play regularly and develop his game. With six central defenders available to Nuno at Wolves, Hause is not going to get much chance at his parent club to build upon his two appearances this season. The best thing for him is to spend the second half of the campaign at a club where competition for centre-back roles are less intense.

Likely to happen?

Almost certainly. Football Insider have excellent Wolves sources and a good track record of being spot on about such deals. Expect an announcement imminently that Hause has penned a new deal, with a loan move to a Championship club to follow.
