West Ham have rejected a £14million bid from Premier League rivals Swansea for attacker Andre Ayew, according to the Telegraph.

The newspaper claims that the Swans are trying to re-sign the 28-year-old, but will have to break their own transfer record to bring him back to the Liberty Stadium.

It is understood that the Hammers are considering keeping the Ghana international following an injury to Andy Carroll.

The report details the left-winger could cost up to £18million during the January transfer window and that a new Swansea bid is expected.

Good move for West Ham?

West Ham will certainly be thin on the ground for the second half of the season if Ayew leaves and he should be kept unless a replacement is signed.

David Moyes has rarely used the pacy wide man since he was appointed and there has been suggestions he will leave the London Stadium.

However, it may not be too late for turn his West Ham career around if he stays until the end of the season amid Swansea interest.

He has scored six goals in 24 appearances across all competitions this season and is a decent finisher.

Likely to happen?

Ayew’s future at West Ham could go all the way down to deadline day and the fact that a  second Swansea bid is in the pipeline suggests this could still happen.

However, Moyes may have had a change of heart over the attacker’s future and for now he could be needed in the first-team squad due to injuries.
