Everton have received contact from Italian top-flight club Torino about midfielder Mo Besic, according to a reliable journalist.

Sky Sports Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported on his personal website that the Serie A outfit have approached the Toffees about signing their 25-year-old.

There is no indication that the Merseyside club would be willing to sell the Bosnia international, but he has been on the fringes of the first-team squad this season.

Besic has made just eight senior appearances this campaign across all competitions and has been a forgotten man under manager Sam Allardyce.

Good move for Everton?

Everton do have an overload of midfield options at Goodison Park and moving on Besic seems like a good move.

The injury-prone player has shown glimpses of his quality during his time in England and his combative approach has made him well liked by fans, but he is no longer at the required standard.

He is currently behind the likes of Morgan Schneiderlin, Tom Davies, Idrissa Gueye and Wayne Rooney in the pecking order

Likely to happen?

It seems probable that Besic could leave Everton given his lack of involvement this season.

However, Torino have only made an opening approach for the central midfielder and there is still a long way to go before he could seal a potential exit.
