Rangers are currently assessing their options after receiving a seven-figure bid from cash-rich Chinese Super League club GZ Evergrande FC for Alfredo Morelos, according to the Scottish Sun.

The newspaper claims that the Chinese side have tabled a £6.5million bid for the centre-forward after seeing an initial £5.3million offer turned down.

It is understood that the second offer is currently being weighed up by the Ibrox outfit after they signed the 21-year-old for just £1.1million in the summer.

The report details that Graeme Murty’s side will only sell their prolific goalscorer if they feel they have enough time left in the January window to bring in a replacement.

Good move for Rangers?

Rangers should respond with an emphatic no to another bid for Morelos and keep him at the club during the final two days of the January transfer window.

They would be taking a major risk in trying to find a replacement for him and it’s unlikely they could find a better goalscorer.

He has been in stunning form this campaign with 13 goals in 27 games across all competitions and still has areas of his game to improve on.

By Rangers’ standards, £6.5million is huge money for one of their players, but in the current inflated market Morelos could be pushing the £10million barrier in the summer if he continues his form and it would be a mistake to panic sell him at the end of January.

Likely to happen?

It seems unlikely that the Gers would sell one of their key mainstays of the side this month despite them currently weighing up the offer.

They would have very little time to sign a replacement centre-forward and his exit could spark big uproar from supporters.
