Leeds United new signing Kamil Miazek has joined Leeds United’s training camp in Spain even though he has not yet been officially unveiled by the club, according to Leeds Live.

The Trinity Mirror football site claim the young goalkeeper has joined up with United’s senior squad at their retreat in Murcia this week.

Leeds Live report that Miazek is one of two “surprise” faces at the training camp along with Dutchman Ouasim Bouy, who has recently returned to the club after a failed loan spell at Spanish second-tier outfit Cultural Leonesa.

Miazek flew to Spain while the likes of Jay-Roy Grot, Tyler Denton and Bailey Peacock-Farrell, who have all featured for the first team, turned out for the Under-23s in their 1-0 win against Huddersfield on Monday.

Intriguingly, Leeds have not announced the young keeper’s arrival even though they released statements on their official website to trumpet the signings of other young players this month such as strikers Sam Dalby and Oliver Sarkic.

However, Miazek’s representatives at the INNfootball Agency posted a message earlier this month to explain thst the 21-year-old, a former Poland Under-19 international, had pen to paper on a deal with Leeds.

They captioned the image: “Done deal. Officially confirmed – Kamil Miazek a @LUFC player.”

Miazek, who was previously in Feyenoord’s academy, had been on trial with Leeds after leaving Polish outfit Chojniczanka Chojnice last summer to become a free agent.

OPINION

Is Miazek being fast-tracked into the Leeds first team? It appears that is the case, or why else is he in Spain with the senior squad when he could be continuing with the Under-23s? It is no secret that United are short of quality keeper back-ups, with question marks not only over veteran Andy Lonergan but also over first choice Felix Wiedwald. Having spent the majority of his youth days playing with Feyenoord, it is unlikely that Miazek would be overawed by moving to the Championship giants. He has played for Poland at Under-19 level and clearly is an exciting talent. He could prove to be a smart acquisition, and Thomas Christiansen is right to have a good look at him in Spain.
