Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has insisted that the club won’t sell any of their star players in either the January or summer window.

Spurs have several in-demand players in their squad in the shape of Harry Kane and Dele Alli, who have been widely reported with moves away in the past.

However, Levy has declared that the north London club will keep every player they wish to over the upcoming windows.

“I’m 100% confident. Every single player that we want to keep, I can assure you will be playing for Tottenham Hotspur next season,” Levy said, as quoted by Sky Sports transfer centre (12:27pm, Thursday 11th).

Mauricio Pochettino has assembled a very strong squad together at Spurs that have competed for the Premier League title in the last two seasons, while they have reached the knockout rounds of the Champions League this campaign.

However, supporters often fear they will not be able to keep hold of their best players and run the risk of becoming a selling club.

Spurs were unable to prevent star defender Kyle Walker join Manchester City last summer and he is now part of an impressive unbeaten team at the top of the Premier League.

OPINION

Spurs fans will be hoping they can believe the word of Levy and that all of their superstars remain with the club for the foreseeable future. They have the core of a team that can win silverware and have been on the cusp of greatness in the past couple of years. Pochettino now needs to galvanise his squad to finally get over the line and the FA Cup may present their best realistic chance of a trophy this season. Levy insists that Spurs will manage to keep hold of their best players, but there is always a concern that the temptation of success elsewhere could turn a few heads eventually.
