Leeds United manager Thomas Christiansen has confirmed that he plans to talk with director of football Victor Orta about the future of defender Lewie Coyle.
The 22-year-old is currently on a season-long loan at League One club Fleetwood Town experience regular first-team football.
He has been a solid performer for them and chipped in with five assists in 27 appearances across all competitions.
Leeds’ senior defender Luke Ayling has recently suffered a season-ending ankle injury and many fans have begged the club to recall Coyle from his loan.
Yorkshire Evening Post’s chief football writer Phil Hay has reported that the Championship side do have the option to bring him back to Elland Road in January.
Leeds boss Christiansen has explained that the club are yet to make a decision on the future of Coyle, but will hold talks with Orta about ripping up the defender’s loan deal, as cited by Hay on his personal Twitter account.
No decision on whether to recall Lewie Coyle from Fleetwood yet, after Ayling’s injury. Christiansen said he needs to speak to Victor Orta about it. #lufc

OPINION
Gaetano Berardi will now fill in the right-back role for Leeds during Ayling’s absence and should be a safe pair of hands now he is back in his favoured position. However, behind him there is not much cover and, with on-loan Cameron Borthwick-Jackson set to return to Manchester United, makeshift defender Vurnon Anita would be the best solution as the right-sided full-back. Leeds should certainly explore bringing Coyle back to the club and his performances out on loan have been very encouraging. He recently helped Fleetwood record a draw at home to Premier League outfit Leicester in the FA Cup third round and he showed how much he has improved in the past six months.
