Leeds United remain interested in Luton Town defender James Justin, but they may not attempt a January swoop for him, according to a reliable journalist.

Sun reporter Alan Nixon has claimed on his personal Twitter account that the Whites cast their eye over the right-back on Saturday as Luton suffered a 2-0 loss against Chesterfield.

It is understood that the 18-year-old is a target for the Yorkshire giants, but perhaps not not in the current January transfer window.

News outlet Football Insider previously reported that Leeds were lining up an imminent move for the Englishman, but it appears any potential switch to Elland Road may have to wait until a later date.

Good move for Leeds?

Justin is an upcoming talent at League Two leaders and it’s best for his development if he finishes the season with them.

However, the latest report suggests that Thomas Christiansen’s side could target the full-back at a later date and the summer could be the perfect timing.

Leeds could do with an additional right-back in their squad following Luke Ayling’s season-ending injury and recalling Lewie Coyle from Fleetwood Town would be the best solution.

Likely to happen?

A January move is looking less and less likely as the transfer window ticks on, but Justin could be a long-term target for Leeds.

The teenager is improving his game in the lower leagues, but is being tipped to move up the footballing ladder in the future.
