Everton are interested in signing Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare, according to the Sun.

The newspaper claims that the Toffees and Leicester have been tracking the 18-year-old sensation at the French top-flight club.

It is understood that Premier League leaders Manchester City are also keen on the Frenchman, who has been dubbed the next Paul Pogba.

The report details that the box-to-box midfielder is set to cost £25millon and that Lille will balance their books if they receive a suitable offer.

Man City feel that Soumare could be a natural successor to midfield powerhouse Yaya Toure, who has been a pivotal player at the Etihad Stadium since his arrival in 2010.

Good move for Everton?

Everton’s name is in the hat for Soumare and he would be an excellent signing if they were to pull it off.

The midfielder enforcer has broken into the Lille first team aged just 18 and is now being tipped to become a future star with the French national team.

He may be valued at £25million now, but that price tag could shoot up during the net 6-12 months.

Soumare is already receiving much attention for his breakout senior season and couple be an incredible pick up.

Likely to happen?

Everton are mentioned as keen on signing Lille’s teenage sensation, but the likelihood is that they will miss out.

Man City appear to be frontrunners for his signature after Pep Guardiola stepped up his pursuit and the club’s chief Brian Marwood watched him on Wednesday.
