West Ham have completed the signing of centre-forward Jordan Hugill from Preston, according to reliable insider ExWHUemployee.

The Hammers insider, who is an extremely reliable source of information from the London Stadium, claimed on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday evening that the club have sealed a deadline day swoop for the 25-year-old.

The Daily Mail reported in their live transfer blog on Wednesday [04:24pm] that Hugill’s move to East London will cost the Irons £8million after arriving in the capital to undergo a medical and wrap up the final details of his move.

Hugill was left out of the Preston side that beat Nottingham Forest 3-0 on Tuesday night with Alex Neil suggesting that the striker had been unsettled by the speculation surrounding his Deepdale future.

The former Port Vale striker has made 29 appearances in all competitions this term, scoring 10 goals in the process.

Good move for West Ham?

West Ham fans have absolutely every right to be furious about this signing. Hugill is a good striker in the Championship and is no better than that. He was widely linked with moves to Leeds and Wolves, showing the quality of the player that the Hammers are about to welcome. £8million is a lot of money for someone who has only really had one and a half season of scoring on a consistent basis. It’s hard to see how the fans could react positively to this signing.

Likely to happen?

ExEHUemployee is a very reliable source of information from West Ham. From transfers to team news, he is most likely spot on. Hugill was been widely reported to have been on his way to the Hammers throughout deadline day and now it seems the deal is over the line and the club are probably working up an elaborate way to announce it after the Premier League fixtures.
