Mesut Ozil has ended speculation about his future at Arsenal and has penned a brand new contract, according to BBC Sport reporter David Ornstein.
The reliable journalist claimed on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday that Ozil, 29, has agreed terms to a £350,000-a-week deal that sees his stay at the Emirates extended until 2012.
It is understood that the deal was signed off on Wednesday morning in a deal that will no doubt send Arsenal fans into meltdown as the Germany international is widely seen as one of the most technically gifted players in the Premier League and could have left for free in the summer.

Ornstein adds that the former Real Madrid star will be the highest paid player in Arsenal history on a day that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was also confirmed to have signed for the North London giants.
Ozil has made 21 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners this term, scoring four goals in the process.
Opinion
What an amazing day for Arsenal fans. First Aubameyang and now this. Ozil will no longer leave the Gunners for free in the summer and fans can breath a huge sigh of relief as the German star has agreed terms on a new deal. Losing Alexis Sanchez was a huge blow but Arsene Wenger has managed to mastermind one of the best transfer windows in his two decades at the club. Aubameyang, plus Ozil, plus making the best out of a bad situation for Sanchez to sign Henrik Mkhitaryan are all huge boosts for the Gunners. Now, just to win silverware and quality for the Champions League.
