Rangers have tabled a £350,000 bid for Kilmarnock’s Jordan Jones which could potentially rise to £500,000, according to a respected journalist.

STV’s Raman Bhardwaj posted a message on his Twitter account sharing that the Gers could fork out £500,000 for the 23-year-old due to adds ons included in the transfer.

The Scottish Sun originally reported the Light Blues’ £350,000 bid but made no mention of add ons being involved that could see the price increase.

Jones has had a tremendous spell since joining Kilmarnock in 2016 from Middlesbrough, with him quickly establishing himself as a first-team player.

This season the winger, whose capable of playing on either flank, has scored three goals and registered three assists in 25 appearances.

Jones also has the ability, if needed, to play as secondary striker or attacking midfielder.

Good move for Rangers?

Yes. The 23-year-old is a promising prospect who can make an instant impact on the Gers’ first-team.

Even though his versatility causes him not to have a settled position, the winger delivers consistent performances for Kilmarnock and could easily do the same for Graeme Murty’s side.

Jones would be the ideal boost to Rangers’ current attacking options.

Likely to happen?

With an offer tabled and Rangers acting fast to secure signings, with deals for Russell Martin and Jason Cummings reportedly close, Jones looks likely to join.

The £350,000 offer seemed low,  so for the fee now reportedly to include adds-on that make it £500,000, the transaction should be closer to happening.
