Paul Lambert is keen to be reunited with Stuart Taylor at Stoke City just days after he joined Rangers, according to the Daily Mirror.

The newspaper claim that the new Stoke City boss wants to add Taylor to his coaching staff, after the pair worked together at Wolves.

The Daily Mirror report that Lambert is set to have meeting with his new bosses on Tuesday to discuss potential targets.

Taylor was announced as the Gers’ new development coach effectively taking over from the role previously held by first team manager Graeme Murty, as announced by Rangers last Tuesday.

When the Light Blues announced Taylor’s arrival at the club, they revealed that he was only in the role until the summer.

OPINION

Taylor was a brilliant appointment by Rangers, given his experience of working not only with Wolves, but with Aston Villa U-23s. However, the coach could be lured to Stoke City by Lambert, despite only joining in the last week. The Gers shared that he was only guaranteed to be in his coaching role until the summer, so Stoke City could provide a more long-term option. However, Taylor did reveal his excitement to The Sun about joining Rangers as he gets to work with Billy Kirkwood, who he admires. The coach also referred to his job at the Light Blues as being crucial, as it’s important he helped young players progress in the game. For these two reasons, Lambert may have to find another coach.
