Greg Docherty is keen on a move to Rangers but Hamilton won’t budge on their £600,000 valuation of the midfielder, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper claim that the two clubs are set to continue negotiations over the next 48 hours, but a deal will only happen if the Gers pay £600,000 for the 21-year-old.

The Daily Record report that Docherty is keen on a move to the Gers, but Preston and Cardiff are also interested in signing the midfielder.

The same report reveals that Docherty missed training for Hamilton on Friday, due to the midfielder suffering a minor knock.

Rangers previously submitted a £300,000 bid for Docherty, according to the Daily Record, which was later rejected by the club.

The Gers are interested in the 21-year-old as he has shown his creative talents for Hamilton this season.

The centre-midfielder, who is also capable of playing as an attacking midfielder or as a right midfielder, has created six goals, while also scoring three, in 25 appearances this season.

Good move for Rangers?

Yes. Even with Hamilton’s £600,000 demand, this is still a good deal for the Light Blues.

The 21-year-old has the creative talents to fit into Graeme Murty’s squad this season, and given his young age, will only improve in the next few season.

Docherty’s versatility could also prove vital for Rangers in the second-half of the season, when games come thick and fast.

Likely to happen?

With talks continuing between the two clubs over the next two days, there’s still a good chance a deal could happen.

Especially as the midfielder wants the move to happen.

However, Hamilton seem to be stubborn over their £600,000 valuation, which means the Gers are going to have to pay up or give up in their pursuit.
