Four European top-flight sides are interested in a January loan deal for out-of-favour Celtic midfielder Eboue Kouassi, according to the Scottish Sun.

The newspaper report that Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen, Ligue 1 side Amiens, and two Belgian teams, Genk and Standard Liege, are all keen on the Hoops destroyer.

The Sun claim that all four have been monitoring the player’s progress ahead of the January window, with more European sides expected to declare interest in the coming days.

It is said that a temporary move to a top-flight side in Europe is Kouassi’s preference, with Celtic likely to agree to a move.

The report claims that Kouassi is seen as the long-term successor to Scott Brown at Parkhead, but has made just nine first-team appearances at the club so far, and Brendan Rodgers wants to get him more minutes.

Kouassi was a £3million signing from Krasnodar one year ago.

Good move for Celtic?

This seems the logical step to take with Kouassi.

The Ivorian is obviously very highly-rated at the club, but is currently failing to keep anyone else out of the first-team.

Hopefully he can go out on loan and play regularly for six months, before returning to Celtic in the summer as a better player.

Likely to happen?

Kouassi’s loan exit looks pretty much nailed on.

The issue now is where he will end up.

All four teams that have been linked with his signature would be decent options, but the key is to securing a move where Kouassi is guaranteed to play.

Rodgers just needs to find a team where that will happen, and then a deal will surely follow soon after.
