West Ham have rejected a second offer from Rennes for wantaway striker Diafra Sakho, according to Sky Sports.

The broadcaster report that the follow-up bid from the Ligue 1 side amounts to around £10million, including add-ons, for the 28-year-old.

Sky claim that West Ham had already knocked back an initial offer of around £6million for the Senegal international, who has expressed a desire to leave the London Stadium this month.

It is now said that Bordeaux are interested in Sakho, with new manager Gus Poyet an admirer of the forward.

Good move for West Ham?

Well, it is obviously a good move to let Sakho go this month, as his presence at the club is doing nobody any favours.

However, West Ham will only strike a deal at a price they believe to be right, which would seem to be around £15million.

With that in mind it is no surprise that the Hammers have rejected this incentivised £10million bid, but the likelihood is that they will not receive many offers higher that that.

The club are going to have to be more realistic if they want to strike a deal for Sakho, with a fee of between £10-12million looking fair.

Likely to happen?

This depends on how ready West Ham are to let Sakho go.

If it gets towards the end of the window and no bids deemed high enough have come in, will the Hammers accept a lower offer or will they just keep Sakho at the club?

Only time will tell.
