West Ham receive bid for Reece Oxford

|

Borussia Monchengladbach submitted a £10million bid for West Ham’s Reece Oxford yesterday (Monday), according to The Sun.

The newspaper claim that the German club are keen to secure Oxford on a permanent deal after he spent the first-half of the season on loan with them.

The Sun report that despite being recalled by David Moyes from his loan in January, Oxford has been informed that his first team chances are limited at West Ham.

It is said that Monchengladbach “are waiting to find out whether West Ham will accept their opening bid”

The Bundesliga club’s offer comes after the 19-year-old only made four appearances for the club during his loan spell.

Two of these four appearances came in December just before his return to the Hammers.

Good move for West Ham?

With the defender still being only 19-years-old and previously showing a lot of potential, it’s a shame it hasn’t worked out better for him at the Hammers.

However, if Oxford is not set to be part of the first-team set-up anytime soon, a £10million bid is a respectable offer to accept.

The newly gained funds can be quickly put to good use in order to strengthen the side in January as they battle relegation.

Likely to happen?

Borussia Monchengladbach seem determined to get Oxford reflected by their quickness to make a move, and there doesn’t seem to be many obstacles in the way of a deal happening.

Even if West Ham rejected the German club’s offer £10million, it seems likely they would try again with a slightly higher offer.
