West Ham took to social media in order to share their dismay over being linked with a move for Arsenal’s Francis Coquelin.
The Daily Mirror reported that the Gunners were willing to sell the midfielder for roughly £10million with the Hammers were keen to make a move.
While West Ham were interested, their fans were far from happy about the idea of signing the midfielder.
One fan believed Coquelin, 26, was worse than what they already had, with another claiming it wouldn’t work because Arsenal play a completely different style to the Hammers.
There was at least one fan who was open to the idea of signing him, but admitted it may just be because anyone seems like a better option than Cheikhou Kouyaté.
Coquelin has a heap of Premier League experience, having made 105 league appearances during his four year spell with Arsenal.
However, this season the midfielder has found himself surplus to requirements.
Coquelin has made 15 appearances across all competitions for the Gunners this season, with only seven of them being made in the league.
The French midfielder’s seven appearances have all been made from the bench, with him failing to start a league game this season.
