David Moyes has told the West Ham board that they should allow Andy Carroll’s move to Chelsea if Michy Batshuayi is part of the deal, according to The Sun.

The newspaper claim that the Hammers boss sees the Chelsea striker as the kind of player he wants at the club, after personally watching him play against Norwich City, as previously reported by The Sun.

The Sun report that West Ham have slapped a £20million price-tag on Carroll, and Chelsea would have to take a financial hit if they were to swap Batshuayi for the forward.

Chelsea signed Batshuayi for £33million in June 2016, according to The Guardian, but the striker has failed to become regular at the club.

The 24-year-old has made 23 appearances for the Blues this season, and all of his 11 Premier League appearance have been made from the bench.

The Sun’s report believes that Moyes is confident a deal between the two clubs can be struck, if West Ham hold firm.

Good move for West Ham?

Yes. Moyes knows the Hammers hold all the cards with this deal, and his stipulation would see West Ham made stronger following Carroll’s exit.

Batshuayi has not been given a fair chance at Stamford Bridge, and the forward is more than capable of adding to his seven Premier League goals if played regularly.

The forward will also be looking to hit the ground running as he is keen to make Belgian’s World Cup squad and add to his 13 caps.

This deal would see West Ham exchange an injury-prone 29-year-old for a vibrant 24-year-old international.

Likely to happen?

There has been so many stories linking Carroll with Chelsea; that after seeming ridiculous, a deal looks like happening.

The Blues are clearly keen on the Hammers’ forward, and if sacrificing a player who hardly features is what it takes, then Chelsea will seal the deal.

Chelsea may be taking a £13million loss on the investment in Batshuayi, but they’re not exactly a financially-strapped club who have to worry about things like that.
