Tottenham best possible XI v Everton

|

Son Heung-Min (Attacking midfield) – Aside from Kane, Son has been Spurs’ best attacking outlet this year. The South Korean has seven Premier League goals to his name, including a stunner last time out against West Ham. He was rested v Wimbledon, but must come back against Everton. Son for Moussa Sissoko.

Dele Alli (Attacking midfield) – Alli has really come into his own in recent weeks after a dodgy start to the season. Two goals and four assists in his last four Premier League matches illustrate his return to form, and he must be reinstated after being left out v Wimbledon. Alli for Fernando Llorente.

Erik Lamela (Attacking midfield) – This is the big call that Pochettino needs to make. Christian Eriksen, one of the holy trinity of White Hart Lane superstars, has simply not been good enough recently, and in all honesty that has been true all season. The Dane can provide wicked set-piece delivery, but has not been doing so on a regular basis. Lamela has returned from his injury well and completed 90 minutes against Wimbledon. The Argentine dazzler must get a chance to impress once again v Everton, and Pochettino must be bold and leave Eriksen, one of his favourite attacking outlets, out of the side. Lamela retains his place.

Harry Kane (Striker) – It was a massive surprise to see Kane start against Wimbledon, as many thought he needed a rest. However, it was a good decision in the end by Pochettino, with Kane breaking the deadlock with two goals in quick succession. Kane is easily the best striker in the country right now, if not Europe, and obviously must start again v Everton. Retains his place.
