Liverpool have agreed terms to sign 18-year-old Colombian prospect Anderson Arroyo on a buy-to-loan deal, according to World Football Index

The football outlet report that the Fortaleza speed machine impressed while on trial with the club in 2016, and the Reds have been tracking his progress ever since.

World Football Index claim that the club have now taken the decision to sign the full-back, but he will be loaned out immediately to Spanish side Mallorca to gain first-team experience in a double deal.

It is said that Arroyo is also not currently eligible for a work permit, and playing for Mallorca will allow him to work towards one, which could take up to two years.

The left-sided flyer is known for his exceptional pace, and he has impressed so much with his performances for second-tier Fortaleza that he has earned a call-up to the Colombia Under-20 side.

Good move for Liverpool?

Arroyo is obviously a bright young talent in Colombia, and Liverpool could have a gem on their hands here.

The 18-year-old can play either at full-back or as a wide midfielder, using his express pace to beat defenders and get into dangerous attacking positions.

The wide man is adept at using both feet, and is therefore comfortable on both flanks, which is a massive asset to any side.

While there is focus on his attacking prowess, Arroyo is also solid defensively, and does not shy away from a tackle at the back.
