AS Roma are considering a move for Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge if Edin Dzeko leaves the club, according to the Daily Star.

The newspaper claim that Dzeko could quit the Italian giants in order to join Chelsea; and AS Roma might swoop for Sturridge to replace Dzeko at the club.

The Daily Star report that Inter Milan are the front runners for the Liverpool’s forward signature, but don’t agree with the Reds’ £35million valuation of Sturridge.

Liverpool want Sturridge to complete a £35m move permanently following an initial loan spell, and Inter feel his price is too high considering his injury history.

Sevilla are also interested in the 28-year-old’s service, with the Daily Mirror previously reporting that the La Liga side was Sturridge’s first choice.

The Liverpool striker has featured 14 times this season, scoring three goals and registering three assists.

Good move for Liverpool?

Yes.

With the Reds determined to get huge money for the striker, another club entering the race is always a good thing, especially with Inter Milan having doubts.

The Daily Mirror reported that AS Roma, who are fifth in Serie A, were set to receive £50million from Chelsea for Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri; which means they would have the money to fund a lucrative deal for Sturridge.

Likely to happen?

Sturridge is all but certain to leave the club in January.

With AS Roma needing a replacement for Dzeko as well as being armed with funds from his sale; then the Italian giants could be Sturridge’s next team.

Especially as Inter Milan and Sevilla both seem reluctant to splash the cash that the Reds demand.
