Javier Hernandez is sensationally set to be offered a way out of West Ham by Los Angeles FC despite only joining in the summer, according to The Sun.

The newspaper claim that Hollywood actor Will Ferrell could help fund the move, as one of of the club owners, in order to make a deal happen.

The Sun report that Los Angeles FC manager Bob Bradley is an admirer of the striker and is quoted as calling him ” a great player, with great personality and a great goalscorer.”

Hernandez only joined the Hammers in the summer for £16million from Bayer Leverkusen, but has found himself mostly used as a substitute in recent months.

The experienced forward has scored only four goals in 21 appearances, across all competition, since making the move.

The Sun report that a move is unlikely to happen due to the forward being contracted until 2020, but The Telegraph reported on Tuesday that West Ham were ready to listen to offers for the attacker.

Good move for West Ham?

It’s only a good move if the fee covers the £16million they paid out in the summer.

Hernandez clearly isn’t suited to the way David Moyes plays, which is shown not only by his brief time at the Hammers but by his spell under the manager at Manchester United.

However, the Hammers don’t need to rush to sell him as it would be a massive embarassment if they sell him for less than £16million in January.

The forward is going to the World Cup in the summer, and impressive performances could see offers for £16million and above come flooding in.

Likely to happen?

The Sun make an excellent point about the forward’s contract running until 2020, but with Hernandez not a regular in the team, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him leave.

The high profile summer signing simply hasn’t settled in at West Ham and since the arrival of Moyes, it looks less and less likely that he ever will.

However, it’s unknown how much Los Angeles would invest in the forward to secure a move.
