Mir signing signals Wolves ambition

|

Wolves are expected to announce the signing of Rafa Mir from Valencia on Wednesday according to Super Deporte, and the signing is a clear signal of the club’s huge ambition.

With Wolves being reportedly about to sign exciting striker Mir to a four-year-contract, it shows the upward climb the club is about to take.

Wolves are all but confirmed as in the Premier League next season, with them sitting 12 points clear at the top of the Championship, and that will be merely the first accolade to come.

Over the last few seasons, no team has been able to dominate in the Championship like Wolves have, and you know that indicates that they will find the step-up easy next season.

By making signings like Mir already, who Tottenham were said to have serious interest in earlier in the year, Wolves look like they have nothing holding them back.

As if they can sign these players ahead of other clubs while technically sat in the Championship, you wonder what they’re pulling power could become next season.

Mir is a 6ft 2in giant who has proven his goalscoring ability in the third tier of Spanish football at only the age of 20.

The striker has scored 15 goals in 19 appearances, a stat that other strikers simply dream of.

While Mir’s involvement in the team will be minimal at first, with the striker simply providing excellent cover for Leo Bonatini, it won’t take long for him to make a name in English football.

The striker has already showcased all the attributes needed to develop into an impressive Premier League striker.

As Wolves are making this signing in January, it will no doubt be the first in a long line of quality signings aimed to not only impact the team now, but to be made with the future in mind.

However, for now, Wolves fans should be celebrating  their club’s vision and the ability to secure such a promising talent that will make Premier League giants jealous.
