Atletico Madrid will reportedly sanction the exit of their winger Yannick Carrasco in January and Tottenham should certainly try to secure his signature.

Spanish outlet AS report that the La Liga side have decided to allow the 24-year-old to leave in the New Year when the transfer window re-opens.

It is understood that Spanish giants Atletico will allow the Belgian superstar to move as he has slipped down the pecking order under manager Diego Someone recently.

The report details that Bayern Munich have previously been interested in signing the wide man, while Premier League clubs are expected to enter the running to sign him in January.

Spurs should jump to the front of the queue for him and he would be an excellent signing for the north London club.

Mauricio Pocehttino’s side are crying out for a tricky winger in their squad and are reportedly keen on Crystal Palace speed merchant Wilfried Zaha.

However, they should now be aiming a lot higher and try to pull of the high-profile signing of Atletico’s star, whose recent behavioural problems could certainly been tamed by Pochettino.

Carrasco has not been in the best of form so far this campaign, but still manager three goals and four assists in 18 games.

The Belgium international has shown in the past he is a skilful wide player that possesses speed and an eye for goal.

He managed 14 goals across all competitions for Atletico and is a technically gifted player that has the potential to light up the Premier League if given the chance.

Spurs should try to add him to their squad to give them a boost for the second half of the season and he could join a large Belgian contingent alongside Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld and Mousa Dembele.

The Premier League team proved in the summer they are now willing to spend big in the transfer window as they forked out £42million for defender Davinson Sanchez and should once again dip into their kitty.
