Tottenham could soon be on the hunt for a new left-back and must consider battling London rivals Chelsea in their reported pursuit of Juventus ace Alex Sandro.

Manchester United are reportedly lining up a £50million bid to sign Spurs defender Danny Rose when the transfer window re-opens and the England international has grown frustrated recently over his lack of game time.

He will leave a huge gap in the squad if he departs the north London club and they would need a top-class replacement if he left in January to bolster their squad.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are reportedly lining up a loan move for Manchester United’s full-back Luke Shaw in January, but the club should ditch those plans and look to bring in a permanent replacement for Rose.

Spurs must consider a move for Brazilian full-back Sandro who has developed into a brilliant player at Juventus.

The Telegraph report that Chelsea have a long-standing interest in the 26-year-old and have had their hopes of signing him boosted ahead of the January window.

It is understood that the Italian giants may be forced to sell the Brazil international as he has made it very clear he is unhappy at the club.

The report details they were holding out for £80million in the summer, but may have to drop that price tag to £50million in the New Year to force his sale.

Spurs must plot a move to hijack Chelsea’s imminent bid and try to bring the powerhouse defender to north London.

Pochettino’s side will have the financial power if Rose’s exit is sealed and the Juventus defender is the perfect like-for-like replacement that could if anything improve the starting XI.

Sandro is a mainstay in the Juventus side and excels in the left wing-back position, something that would make him a great fit under Pochettino.

He has made 16 appearances across all competitions this season and already chipped in with five assists.

The defender has excellent speed and attacking prowess, which would see him make a huge impact in the Premier League if given the chance.

Spurs would be putting down a real marker if they managed to brush Chelsea aside to sign Sandro and he could make an immediate positive impact in the team given his top level experience.
