West Ham are interested in signing Sevilla’s wantaway midfielder Steven N’Zonzi, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claims that the Hammers have shown they are keen on landing the 29-year-old that is available in January after falling out with manager Eduardo Berizzo.

It is understood that the France international has jetted into the UK to holds talks with Everton and Arsenal about a potential January switch.

The report details that Everton boss Sam Allardyce is hoping to sign the central-midfield destroyer on loan, while the Gunners feel he could strengthen their squad.

N’Zonzi is believed to have a £32.5million buyout clause in his contract, but teams may not have to reach that figure to prize him away on a permanent basis.

Good move for West Ham?

West Ham do already have a number of central midfielder in their squad, but David Moyes would be foolish if he didn’t want to add Sevilla’s powerhouse.

The Hammers have been inconsistent in the middle of the park this campaign with the likes of Cheikhou Kouyate, Pedro Obiang, Mark Noble and Edimilson Fernandes struggling at times.

N’Zonzi is a proven Premier League performer after playing for Blackburn and Stoke, but has gone away to become a better player.

He is extremely confident in possession and the perfect screen in front of the back four that would certainly improve the Hammers starting XI.

Likely to happen?

West Ham may be keen on landing N’Zonzi, but it appears they would have a lot of work to do if he was to end up at the London Stadium.

Arsenal and Everton are believed to have scheduled talks with the player, which certainly puts them in the driving seat.

The Hammers are also 15th in the current Premier League table and a player of N’Zonzi’s quality would surely prefer a move to a team in the top half.
