Leeds United are interested in signing right-sided flyer Aleandro Rosi from Italian club Genoa, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

The Italian news outlet claims that the Whites are in pursuit of the experienced 30-year-old, who is a versatile ace that can play either right-back or as a right-winger.

It is understood that the Italian has emerged on Leeds’ radar, while Premier League club Brighton are also believed to be keen.

The report details that Rosi is out of contract with Serie A club Genoa at the end of the season and that could give clubs the chance to swoop for him beforehand.

Good move for Leeds?

Rosi is an experienced defender that has shown his worth in the Italian top flight over the years, which has included being a mainstay in the current Genoa team as a right-winger.

Thomas Christiansen will be keen to bolster his squad in January if he can and Rosi is not someone who fits the bill.

The Yorkshire giants desperately need a new left-back in their squad and are already stocked with several solid options on the right side of defence through the likes of Luke Ayling and Gaetano Berardi.

Rosi is also a 30-year-old that has never played in English football before and it would be a slightly strange move.

He has failed to score this season despite playing in a more advanced position where he bombs up and down the right flank.

Likely to happen?

Rosi could certainly be on the way out of Genoa despite being a mainstay in the starting XI this campaign as his contract has been allowed to run down to its final stages.

Leeds are firmly in the hunt for his signature and will want to improve their squad to aid a promotion hunt, but the presence of Premier League club Brighton could be difficult to compete against.
