Leeds United fans took to Twitter to take the mickey out of Pierre-Michel Lasogga after the club jokingly announced a new winter signing on Friday.
The official Leeds Twitter account marked the festive thaw in Yorkshire by trumpeting the new arrival of snowman ‘La-snow-ga”, who will join on a “rolling contract until he melts”.

The message came after United were forced to cancel the Friday media briefing of manager Thomas Christiansen and winger Pawel Cibicki due to the snow at the club’s Thorp Arch headquarters.
Leeds are in the market for new signings in the January transfer window after already confirming the imminent arrival of Japan international Yosuke Ideguchi.
Most supporters reacted with good humour to the club’s snowman joke, with some using it as an opportunity to have a dig at striker Lasogga, who has been criticised for his lack of pace and movement during his season-long loan from Bundesliga big hitters Hamburg.
