Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane has sparked a dispute at Real Madrid after manager Zinedine Zidane told president Florentino Perez that he does not want to sign the 24-year-old, according to Don Balon.

The Spanish football outlet claims that Perez is intent on making a move for a striker in the summer transfer window, with Kane at the top of his list.

Don Balon however report that Zidane is not so keen on the England star, insisting that Karim Benzema is his main striker.

It is said that Perez is growing tired of Zidane’s obsession with his French compatriot, and the president has made his mind up that he will bring in a new striker in the summer.

Zidane is reported to not see any merit in bringing Kane to the Bernabeu, with Benzema his preferred choice despite the 30-year-old only managing two goals in La Liga this season.

Kane broke Alan Shearer’s record for most Premier League goals in a calendar year on Boxing Day, bagging a hat-trick against Southampton as Spurs romped to a 5-1 win.

OPINION

Kane’s sensational form for Tottenham is only going to increase speculation surrounding his future. However, with the striker scoring so freely in a promising Spurs side, there would seem to be little reason for him to seek a move away. It would take a truly monumental fee to prise the academy graduate away from his club, and with reports suggesting that Spurs are about to break their wage ceiling for him, a move to Real in the summer looks even more unlikely.
