Dele Alli has finalised his new management team after several months of deliberation, it was confirmed on Wednesday morning.

The Sports PR Company announced on their Twitter account that they have agreed a deal with the Tottenham midfielder to take charge of his public relations.

This brings to an end the long-running saga about who will run the affairs of one of the world’s most marketable young players after he split with long-term agent Rob Segal in August.

It has been reported that Alli’s adoptive brother Harry Hickford will be Alli’s representative, Creative Artists Agency are to look after his commercial dealings and the Sports PR company will deal with his public relations.

OPINION

Tottenham will be encouraged by Alli’s decision to not employ a new agent, and certainly by the absence of a super agent like Jorge Mendes or Mino Raiola in his affairs. By not appointing someone with experience of brokering deals to big clubs, and instead trusting his affairs in a three-tiered management team, Alli’s priority appears to establish himself as one of the world’s most glamorous players at White Hart Lane rather than one of Europe’s elite clubs. While Alli’s performances have been mixed this season, his status as one of the Premier League’s outstanding young players is secure. This deal should help him forget about what is happening off the pitch, and get back to delivering on it.
